Rikchik games

Rikchik gaming sticks:

49 sticks, about 1 blade long, in each combination of 7 patterns and 7 colors. One end of the stick has the color/pattern on it for about 1/7 of a blade. The other end is blank and indistinguishable. The sticks are shuffled by placing them in a half-blade-high cup, color side down, and shaking.

Games with sticks

game 1: open-hand family-pulling?

Each player has 7 sticks, visible to the other players. The rest of the sticks are color-down in the cup. Discards go to the side, not into the cup.

on your turn, play one of your sticks on another player (indicate them and discard it) and draw a stick to replace it. They must choose to discard either all their sticks of that pattern or all their sticks of that color. If they don't have any of that pattern they must discard based on that color, and vice versa. If they don't have any matching sticks at all you draw 2 sticks instead of one.

When a player reaches 1 or 0 sticks they are eliminated. If they have 1 stick left they give it to the person who knocked them out in place of that person's replacement draw.

Winner is last surviving player.

game 2: closed-hand crystal?

each player has 7 sticks, not visible to the other players. The rest of the sticks are color-down in the cup. Discards go back into the cup, color-up.

On your turn, draw a stick from the cup (either color-up or color-down) and discard one color-up. If you have 4 sticks of one color and 4 sticks of one pattern after your discard (they will need to intersect on one stick), show your hand to win.
