[DWJ] DWJ

Thank you, Minnow. I saw the news on a blog this morning and saw it Tweeted
everywhere. We knew how ill she was, but selfishly I wanted to keep her with
us. Such a sad, sad loss.

I met her at that wonderful pub meet about seven years ago. I smashed my
knee and she was kindness itself. Long before that my then 8-year-old wrote
her a fan letter and Diana replied in that voice we loved so much. A light
has gone out of the world.

My thoughts are with her family and close friends at this sad, sad time.

Diana died in her sleep last night at about five (GMT). She was in St
Peter's Hospice in Bristol, after a short final illness, and her pain was
being controlled so that she was no longer hurting all the time.

The best friend ever I had. I shall miss her.

Thanks for telling us. That's very sad, even if it wasn't unexpected. It's
good to know she wasn't in pain towards the end, at least.

I shall miss her too, though I never met her in person. Thank you for
sharing.

Such a loss to so many. Particular sympathy to those of you who knew her.

Thank you Chris.

Do you know if it will be an open funeral? I think that those of us
who are able would like to go.

I have no idea. I don't suppose that her family know: it has been two
hours since they were told, and I doubt they've given in much thought
yet. When I have any information I will of course pass it on -- but if
they want to be private, I have no quarrel with that.

Perhaps if the family do want a small quiet occasion, her fans could
organise a memorial for her; or perhaps her publishers or agent will.
She was widely loved, for her self as well as for her books.

Thank you minnow.

I apologise if I sounded pushy: I come from a religion that buries within 24
hours so am used to very fast decisions. I did not mean to offend.
