In Britain, Skating Shoes seems to have been published as White Boots. My roommie just got me a copy... I'd like to get a copy of Circus Shoes. Read long long ago...

Apparently it was published in the U.S. as "Movie Shoes."
My favorite Shoes book is Skating Shoes. Reading those as a little girl in
irginia was like reading books set in a slightly alternate universe, one
ithout obvious street signs as to where and when they are, with the basics
he same but all the little details of life changed.
But then, I felt the same way about Judy Blume books. . . I think I was
bout sixteen before I figured out a) what an A&P was and b) why Laura
anker might have gone behind it (when I was seven I thought she went
umpster diving).

I never even heard of "The Painted Garden". It's not one of the Shoes
books.... Someone in the US just reprinted Skating Shoes in a hardcover
