Thanks very much for the reviews, Kathleen and Charlie. What you say
about the theme of ghosts and other dead people interacting with a
living person reminds me of Peter S. Beagle's book 'A Fine and Private
Place'. Though the plot is clearly different. 
I'm looking forward to reading it for myself.
