This is true, and it was with cases such as that in mind that I said 'most
people' rather than all. But even here, the situation of people who have
never considered themselves to be Jewish doesn't seem very closely analogous
to that of people who suspect that they *may* in fact be witches. I
certainly wouldn't rule out the relevance of racial analogies (and human
experience is of course extremely various), but they seem in general to be
less applicable than some others.
