Sinead is the gaelicized form of Janet, not a native Irish name. Likewise, 
Sean from (the English) John. The earlier Irish version of John (presumably 
from Greek or Latin forms in the bible) is Eoin. Same thing happened in 
Welsh: Sioned, Sion, Ioan respectively.
