Here's what there is so far:

Susan Hill, The Woman in Black
Barbara Michaels, especially Ammie, Come Home
John Bellairs, The Face in the Frost
M R James (Ghost Stories of an Antiquary + sequel)
E F Benson
Mary Stewart (though no ghosts), especially Nine
Coaches Waiting, Touch Not The Cat, Wildfire At
Midnight, The Gabriel Hounds
Sheridan Le Fanu
Wilkie Collins
Dickens' or Conan Doyle's supernatural short stories
Algernon Blackwood
Ramsey Campbell, The Influence
Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
Dennis Wheatley, The Devil Rides Out
Bram Stoker, Dracula

I'm trying to persuade her that vampires can be fun
and un-Anne-Rice-like by waving Sunshine at her (she
likes Robin McKinley), but I'm afraid there won't be
time before she leaves.
