I finished The Eyre Affair last night, and am still giggling (easily amused) at the deadly serious scene which occurs at the same time the bookworms (replete with pronouns) start "farting apostrophes and ampersands", and the dialogue becomes cluttered with them. I don't know how to read this scene aloud. And then, of course, the bookworms become stressed and start hyphenating.
