:-) Conversely, Julius Caesar used to compose letters, reports and even IIRC
a Latin grammar, which he dictated (in true dictatorial manner) from
horseback as he travelled through Cisalpine Gaul. Presumably his scribes had
even niftier writing pads attached to *their* saddles - and all without the
aid of stirrups!
