Yes! I love it! Mrs Cathy Squinch (sp?) is one of my favourite witches.

I can't run to Dorian's magnificent list, but I do recommend 'The Wednesday
Wizard' and 'Denzil's Dilemma' by Sherryl Jordan if you can get hold of
them. If it were a course for older readers I would beg you to use 'Winter
of Fire' by the same author.

Roald Dahl, especially 'Fantastic Mr Fox' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory'.
The Little House books, perhaps?
There are also Enid Blyton's books on 'The Wishing Chair' et al.
