Not all the romances all of the time, but yes - there are enough repeated
scenes and character-types. Lots of Other Women out to make trouble. Usually
glossy and glitzy and hard as nails. One wonders why the hero ever hooked up
with them. Lots of feisty heroines who storm at heroes without a great deal
of justification. Lots of heroes who are coldly arrogant - again with no
particular justification. There's a Welsh writer named Catherine George who
used to do more individual heroes and heroines, but she seems to have toned
them down a bit. She also Did Families a bit, so the heroine would have one
or more sibs who were developed characters and who were recognisably from
the same gene pool.
