Non-spolier Merlin question

Deep Secret, obviously, but it also _felt_ like a lot of her other books
to me, especially Lives of Christopher Chant.  Reading TMC (as opposed to
MoC?) felt like walking through a new house furnished with familiar
things. . . really, really nice.
