I bwa-ha-ha-ed when I saw those names; but I assume that Susan Cooper
found them the same way Pamela Dean did, by researching Shakespeare's
company. It's been a while since I read the book, but I don't think they
figured hugely in King of Shadows; they were more scene-dressing.
We've sent a man to the moon, and that's 29,000 miles
away. The center of the Earth is only 4,000 miles away.
You could drive that in a week, but for some reason
nobody's ever done it.
