And don't forget also that Year of the Griffin is a parody, much like
Dark Lord was, of the kinds of books that inspired DWJ to write the
tough guide.  It took keeping this second thing in mind -- that I was
supposed to be in on the joke -- for me to enjoy Griffin at all.
