I didn't read "Homeward Bounders" for years, because my mother told me she
didn't think I would like it, because the ending was too sad. She's
generally a good judge of what I like, so I stayed away. Finally my sister
told me that the ending wasn't *that* sad, and I should read it. So I did,
and I'm very fond of it.
