Did you know that "French toast" (bread soaked in egg and then cooked on a
flat grill) was called "German toast" before World War I? Makes you wonder.

Were English muffins actually Crimean muffins?
Were Spanish onions actually Montenegran onions?
And what about those "French Fries?" Lithuanian? Uzbek?

And don't forget "Saxon meatballs" (Swedish meatballs before the War of the
Spanish Succession).
