Princess Bride

This afternoon, during a ramble through the library catalogue, I stumbled
over an amusing tidbit. There is a man who set a whole bunch of mediaeval
German lyrics to music (a laudable endeavour). His work is called
"Fruehlingssehnsucht", "Spring Longing", choruses for soprano, alto, tenor
and bass, all very charming to be sure. Well, the composer's name, poor
fellow, is Humperdinck--Engelbert Humperdinck, no less. I couldn't
believe my eyes.
