In Dutch the hat has four corners, or rather four dents:
"Mijn hoed die heeft vier deuken, vier deuken heeft mijn hoed,
En had hij niet vier deuken, dan was het niet mijn hoed."
(My hat has four dents, four dents has my hat
And if it didn't have four dents it wouldn't be my hat.)
The hat in question is the one scout leaders wear; it's a boy scout
